Made a trip to Fountain Bookstore today with Wicket to get Eric Smith‘s The Girl and the Grove. Photographic proof includes a few outtakes for your amusement. #WicketsWorld #ya #youngadult #dogsoflitsy
I‘m picking this book. I really enjoyed the last half of the book, once the magical realism of the novel became evident and really began to shine through. This novel focuses on adoption and what it‘s like being a part of a family. The way that is highlighted is beautiful. The ending felt a little rushed but all in all. This was a quick enjoyable read. Thanks Netgalley for this book in exchange for an honest review.
Starting now! And by the way I lov this cover and I‘m not sure why I just do!
So excited about this ARC. I follow Eric Smith on Twitter (@ericsmithrocks) and he is a truly generous addition to the publishing world. He also has a really cute corgi.
Giving this a signal boost, because this book will be adorable and Eric is one of the kindest people I know in the publishing biz.

From bouncing around the foster care system to living with seasonal affective disorder, Leila never had an easy road. She keeps busy with her passion for environment advocacy by joining a local environmental club with Sarika. Now that she‘s been adopted, she hopes life will improve.
But the voices in her head are growing louder by the day. Ignoring them isn‘t working anymore. Something calls to her from the grove at Fairmount Park.
