Reread the 14th book in the Reacher series for South Dakota as no other book appealed to me. Back when they used to be good stories 🙂

RachelAmphlett Loved this one. I think I started withdrawing from the series after reading The Affair... 4y
suzie.reads @RachelAmphlett I've struggled for a longtime and now he has handed over the writing to his brother I think I've given up 😏 4y

Jack Reacher never fails me. In this installment, he lands in South Dakota for 61 hours where a woman is set to testify and stand up for justice. As the story evolves it becomes so much more than protecting one woman. A must read of this series. #MountTBR

Jack Reacher, a tall 6 ft 5in man, ex military police officer and my favorite nomad, involves himself in a thrilling case of biker drug case. He is "THE HERO" for the youth. He gives many insights on life, for instance you can not live a planned life even if you have planned it over and over... "Plans go to hell as soon as the first shot is fired"- Reacher. 61 hours shows us exactly how time ticks in the book world. Couldn't put down. RECOMMENDED.

As the name suggests this book take place over a 61 hour period. This is by far the best Reacher book I‘ve read so far.

I used to have a #CrimeThrillerShelf but recently took forever to re-organise all my books into #authorshelves to make it easier to find books, but these are a few parts of the shelves that have crime and thriller books on (and yes all the shelves are double stacked!). #MarchMadness #CrimeThrillerShelfie

ShookBelf I have a Lee Child shelf like that. 7y
Andrew65 @ShookBelf I think Lee Child shelves should be compulsory! 😂 👍 (edited) 7y
ShookBelf @Andrew65 - I wholeheartedly agree 😁😁 7y

somebooksaround Love this!! 🙌🙌📚 7y
Andrew65 @josteele These are just the ones we need to read, we had to make some tough decisions (because of space) and pass on books we had read unless we knew we would read them again. Having two avid readers in the house is not good for space and storage of all books! 😂😬🤪 7y
Andrew65 @josteele We try where possible to only buy physical books from charity (thrift) shops or church sales where we know our money will be going to support good causes. 7y
somebooksaround I hear you there! Space is precious when you‘re a reader! 😂🙌 7y
somebooksaround My tbr is forever growing - I‘m having a new shelf put in 😂 - but thrift stores etc are precious for buy and donate as well! Power to more readers like you and yours! 🙌📚📚 7y
Andrew65 @josteele Thanks. We spent months reorganising books and passing books onto charity shops, as well as of course bringing more shelves in. Now every book has a place alphabetically on the shelf, no bags or boxes of books around 😂 and event got space on she,vex for current library books. 👍 7y
somebooksaround best feeling seeing shelves finally put together and especially great for extra space! 🙌 + That‘s always wonderful to pass a book on🙌😃 7y

Mehso-so

FINISHED! HA!!! Man alive, this was a Herculean effort. So-so even though I‘m a fan because I would have been *royally* annoyed by the ending if I‘d been reading it when was first published & because I am annoyed at some of the plot. Yes, that is idiosyncratically petty of me but I‘m going with it. Like all Child‘s books, it has writing that stops you in your tracks but mainly, I‘m glad I‘ve actually finished this almost white whale of a book!!!

This. This is why I‘m persisting with this book: because Lee Child, in the middle of thrillers about drug kingpins and bent cops and a former Army MP, still pulls out some of the most lyric writing I‘ve ever read. I adore the juxtaposition, and the writing itself. Even if I am hate reading because I skipped around because I was in a mood.... it‘s actually worth it. 😊

I WILL FINISH THIS BOOK TONIGHT IF IT *KILLS* ME (this is all my own fault, I flipped around, got annoyed and since I really do like Lee Child and always find something noteworthy in his writing, I REFUSE to leave this unfinished. But it may kill me. Knuckling Down).

Once again, life lessons from Lee Child. If anyone can tell me where the last 7 or so years went, I would dearly love to know!!!

?? "61 sat" - Child Lee: Iako nisam neki poseban ljubitelj krimica, 61 sat me prosto fascinirao. Svaka stranica me vukla ka sljedecoj i toliko sam zeljela znati sta ce se desito kada odbrojavanje zavrsi... Napeta prica napisana na osnovu jako zanimljivog koncepta... Definitivna preporuka ????

Knjigoholicarka Even I'm not so into crime novels, this one change all of my opinion upside down. Concept of counting down was so interesting and drag me into the story in a way I couldn't resist it until I finished it. I definitely recommend it. 😍😍😍👌👌👌👍👍👍 8y

Set in the town of Bolton, South Dakota, Reacher begins his latest adventure on a wrecked senior citizen tour bus after a near-miss with another motorist leaves the bus spinning on the icy road and trapped in a snowy bank. Immersed in a frozen landscape, Reacher works with local law enforcement to help the fragile victims.

Hours later, Reacher learns Bolton is not like most towns. Beside its freezing, snowy climate, the town plays host..
