Had some driving to do so mostly audio on this one. There is a threat to the Vice President elect so the Secret Service engaged the services of Reacher to find holes in their security.Complicated by the fact the head of the detail is an interesting woman who was in a relationship w/ Reacher‘s brother Joe , now deceased. There are layers & layers to be uncovered, seems Reacher is the right man for the job.sixth in the series.

There's someone out to assassinate the Vice President Elect of the United States and Reacher finds himself drafted by the Secret Service to investigate.

I loved the back story in this one regarding Joe, Jack's older deceased brother, or in Jack's words 'i was the younger brother but now I'm older'. I really enjoyed Jack's vulnerability and the conversations regarding sibling rivalry.

Another awesome book by Lee Child.

Meh. At this point I‘m only following the series because my mom keeps downloading the audiobooks into our shared account 🙈

Not my favorite installment, but not bad. I wasn't a fan of the romantic partner in this one (spoiler in comments). I'm a fan of the series books (not the short stories in-between).

JoyBlue The Secret Service agent, ME Froelich, didn't impress me at all. I was especially irritated by the fact that she incessantly claimed she was over her break-up with Reacher's brother (6 or 8 years prior), while she clearly wasn't. She didn't seem like a good romantic partner for Reacher at all. No heat. No interest. Just weird. 6y

Read the sixth book in the Jack Reacher series amd as always it was a fun and enjoyable read. I thought it could have been a little shorter at least by 20 pages but still it is such a great character and I love reading his adventures. For me the first book in the series Killing Floor is still the best one.

Just finished my 16th Jack Reacher (6th in the series). I haven't read them all but enough to call myself a fan. Thinking about reading this series? Here's how I rate them:

Pick🤘: The Killing Floor, Without Fail, The Enemy, Persuader, Bad Luck & Trouble, One Shot, The Affair

So-so: Echo Burning, The Hard Way, Worth Dying For, Gone Tomorrow, Never Go Back

Pan: 61 Hours, A Wanted Man, Personal

Bail: Nothing to Lose

Alfoster Agree! Why are some so good and others kind of lame? Go figure! 8y
Suzze All the years I was a bookseller, some of them managing a mystery bookstore, I had never read him. Then my son started them. When he had read about 18, he gave them all to me. I'm up to 10. Love 'em. 8y
EricQiao @Alfoster Read Shanghai Bandit? It's my attempt to become a spiritual successor of Mr. Lee Child. 😅 On a side note, Anne, we read a lot of the same books, don't we! 🤓 8y

Alfoster Yes, we do! That's why I know I'm gonna love Shanghai Bandit! ❤ 8y
EricQiao @Suzze are you reading them in order? If you haven't got to Nothing to Lose yet, avoid it at all cost! 8y
Suzze @EricQiao Ut oh. It's number 12. I'm putting a sticky note on it. 😁 8y
Suzze @Alfoster Wait does that mean @EricQiao , you and I are triplets? 8y
Alfoster Yes! @Suzze @EricQiao We are triplets re-united!❤ 8y

LeslieO I have a similar shelf! I'm reading them all out of order and love them all! Bailed on 61 Hours?? That's my fav! Have you tried the Hunt for Jack Reacher series by Diane Capri? Two FBI agents on the hunt for Jack. I have the first on kindle but haven't read it yet. 8y
Alfoster @EricQiao @Suzze Eric--you write it; we star in it! And then we go on Ellen!😍❤ 8y
EricQiao @LeslieO I didn't like ending of 61 Hours. I felt cheated😡I heard of Hunt for Jack Reacher, will read it eventually as I'm running out of the vintage ones! Tripwire, Die Trying, and Running Blind are the only good ones I haven't read. I'm saving them. 🤗 8y
EricQiao @Alfoster Deal! 🤝I smell Pulitzer... 8y
LeslieO @EricQiao I do like knowing I have a few left to read! 8y
TeacupsandMufasa I've read 17 of them (in order) and they are one of the best series I've come by! Read them all! You'll get hooked! 8y
JoyBlue Bad Luck and Trouble was the first one I read. Even though it's the 11th installment, it got me hooked! (I've read 10/23 regular installments so far, plus one of the short stories, which I wish I'd skipped.) 6y

So when my week gets tough, the tough turn to brain candy. This testosterone fuel action book was just what the teacher ordered.

brendanmleonard These are very good, pulpy reads. 8y
