A collection of short stories and essays on technology, human thinking, and all kinds of other fun, strange brain pickings in Coupland‘s inimitable style.

Book 29/55
Are you a minimalist? Do you take pride in a reductive life? Minimalists are actually extreme hoarders: they hoard space, and they‘re just as odd as those people with seven rooms filled with newspapers, dead cats and margarine tubs. —“Shiny”
Recent #LibraryHaul. I don't think I'll get to all of these before they're due.... #everytime #igetsoexcitedatthelibrary
Though I'm trying to finish two other books, I'm not going to be able to resist starting this one after picking up my order from Malaprop's this afternoon.

A great selection of stories and essays. Of especial note: "Black Goo", "Beef Rock", and "Pot". Several stories are reprinted from Generation A, but I'd totally forgotten so they still felt fresh ? A good collection for reading in several medium sittings.
Only a short way in and already I know that "Black Goo" will be one of my favourite pieces in this collection. It is about oil spills in the Vancouver area and humans' folly in continuing to endanger the area (and wanting to endanger it further with more tankers and pipelines).
