Many years ago, I discovered John Grisham and was enthralled with his fast paced courtroom stories. Not sure if I read this one or not. 🤔

August 15 #BookBinge Courtroom Setting I love this type of book. Must come from my Law Assistant course I took in college even though I never had the opportunity to work the field. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
March 1 #SavySettings Courtroom My first thought is John Grisham, he can make a courtroom scene interesting. I love books, movies, and shows about trials. This one I read in 2019, a really good read. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Finally finished with Jury Duty today. It was such a long, boring day at the court house, but at least I finished 2 books, right? 😅
I didn't enjoy this book. It didn't seem to go anywhere. Lots of intrigue in the blurb, and it didn't meet my expectations.
Is this my favorite Grisham? No. Is it the most realistic? No. Was it a fun page-turner? Yes. I had fun reading this story of a high stakes tobacco trial where the defense wants a guaranteed verdict and is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to get it. Lots of good twists and turns, a juror with a secret, and fun dynamics among the jurors. #40thbdaychallenge #1996
Sneaking away from work for a bit to have some quiet time with John Grisham. #bdaychallenge #1996
I can‘t believe we‘re halfway through #bfcr2 already! This week was more about vacation prep at home and work than fitness, but I did meet my step goals every day except one, made it through a 25k step day three weeks post crutches, and finished my 5th audiobook.
I‘m on vacation this week, so no new goals. Just want to take lots of walks and get lots of rest.
The One Great Book podcast had me wanting to revisit a classic John Grisham book. I was happy my library had this one on Libby.
The plot was interesting and well-thought out. A cigarette company is put on trial for the death of a man who smoked for 35 years and then died because of it. The jury is magnificently the main object of the story, and it was fun and interesting to see how events transpired. I stopped my other current reads when I picked this one ☝. ❤ it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐4.75
Cigarettes are the single deadliest product on the market; nothing else comes close. Also, cigarettes are designed to be lit and puffed; thus, they are deadly if used exactly as intended.
Perfect long weekend read! I love me some classic Grisham - it's good to read about people who are not outrunning the FBI or some other thugs, like I find his more current books gravitate to. What I especially love about The Runaway Judy is how this is about what goes on behind the scenes in a jury trial, which always remains a secret, and all the corruption that can go into behind the scenes matters. Great read!
Keeping up with my Grisham kick and turning to an old favourite next.
Hmmm ... perhaps I should read it and see what my life is about.
I love this book! The little details that eventually lead into the big stuff are so well done. The characters are incredible. The whole book is just amazing. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone.
