What They Don't Teach You in Jr. High | 
Book four of the Fifteen series was given to me on my 13th birthday by one of my best friends. I reread it last month for #HorrifiedReads and honestly, it could've been much worse. In fact, some of the other 80s novels I read made this one look great by comparison! I don't think I ever read any of the other books in this series, and after looking at the list, I think maybe it's better that way 😂 NovemberbytheNumbers #15
so-soI can see why this novel appealed to me as a shy, gawky 13 year old, but as an adult? 🙄 Sexist comments & anti-nerd sentiments abound. I did like the meta parts where Betsy points out how things would be different if she were the heroine in a teen novel. Overall, an OK story, with an important but simplified message: you don't need to be popular to have friends & be happy with your life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (bumping it up for nostalgia factor) #HorrifiedReads
