Herr Lehmann
Herr Lehmann: Ein Roman | Sven Regener
9 posts | 3 read

Thanks for the tag @Eggs 😃

🎧 tagged book is the only one I can remember ever having listened to on CD. @julesG might know it 😉 such a good book and a great reading by the author.

🎧 I sure do but it‘s usually pretty mellow. Sometimes I listen to ASMR vids that have a crackling fire or nature sounds or (lately) coffeehouse background noises 😂☕️

TheSpineView Thanks for playing and happy Tuesday! 💜🎧 4y
julesG Herr Lehmann ☺️ I think I should re-read, or try the audiobook. 4y
CoffeeAndABook @julesG it‘s a long time ago that I first read, then listened to & then watched it!! 😂 I might give it another go as well!! 4y

The funny thing about this “re-read”: It didn‘t help much to understand what Karl dealt with in “Magical Mystery”.

But it helped to sort in why Regener‘s latest book is “Wiener Straße”.

In direct comparison Herr Lehmann and Karl are surprisingly alike when it comes to certain attitudes and “thinking-habits”. Which is kind of logical. They are close friends.

Pickpick

Around hour three I thought it might in “re-reading” only come out as a “So-So” because I‘m a decade older now and noticed some things I might not have been aware of when I first read it. For example how right Katrin is … But then …

Yes, another one being not so much plot driven. Suddenly it gave me that “That‘s-life”-feeling again that I also had 10 years ago. Very relatable how he slips into this with Karl. Very much like life.

Today I‘m grateful for the comforts of my life.

🛌 Being allowed to sleep in and having breakfast service

☀️ Dozing in the sun and having the “been-outside”-smell on my skin afterwards

🥙 My well filled store room

Spent a good 1,5 hours in the sun listening to this “re-read”.

A thing before lending/buying/reading/listening to „Wiener Straße“ I think.
I now recall “small” details – like which role the Wiener Straße plays. ? And, of course, I catch myself paying more attention to Karl now than to Herr Lehmann. Which I think you naturally don‘t do when reading the book for the first time.

But I also noticed how young I was when I read it for the first time.

Here you see once more how bad in preserving I am … 😊

In retrospection it‘s yesterday been:

😄 The car garage surprisingly calling to say they repaired my car, for my significant other to be the chauffeur, and for the work done being on warranty so I didn‘t need to pay a cent

♨️ The lunch we had at the „Extrablatt“ – and that it was table service instead of serve yourself

🍽 My significant other who emptied the dishwasher

1. Other hobbies then reading. 🤔 Difficult because I do not quite have the time to. Watching snooker. ⚪️🔴⚪️⚫️ Playing Subnautica. 🎮 Playing board games. 🎲

2. I always wanted to play saxophone but I cannot read music notes.

3. The tickets from all the events I went to.

4. ⚪️🔴⚪️⚫️ My bestie and Rolf Kalb. 🎮 Simon Kretschmer on Rocketbeans TV. 🎲 My math-private-tutor when I was at school.

5. @MariaW @Nelly @Elizzy @WortKunstSalat

wanderinglynn I‘m sure saxophone lessons will include basic music reading. 👍🏻 Thanks for playing! 💜 6y

Just found this in my online library.
Also read by the author. 😂

So let‘s “re-read” and find out all about Karl five years before “Magical Mystery” again.
