I wasn‘t sure what to expect going into this fairy tale retelling set in Depression era West Virginia but I really liked it and will be looking forward to reading more by Yolen.

Having lived in Ohio almost all my life, there are some great things here but I must confess I‘ve never considered it a honeymoon destination. 😂 The more times I read this line, the more tickled I get at the thought.

megnews @audraelizabeth they were coming from WV! It is set in the Depression so I‘m sure it was something to go so “far away.” It still struck me funny though. 3y

audraelizabeth Yea, my dads parents went to niagra falls, they were married in 1955. Some people go to wv for weddings or honeymoons because wv tourism bureau does an excellent job of spending money wisely. 3y

megnews @audraelizabeth yes! Niagara Falls was definitely THE honeymoon spot for a long time. Still very popular when I was growing up in the 80s. Followed by the Poconos and Hawaii for the rich folks 😊 3y

Hey bookies!! So sorry about being awol, a lots been going on with me lately and haven‘t been in a socialising zone! I found out a have asthma, started on antidepressants, and broke my foot all in one week, and then had to deal with being a bridesmaid at wedding on top of that so it‘s been a bit crazy. Everything‘s calming now, and I‘ve had more time to read since I‘m stuck being stationary with my leg in a cast. Hope everything‘s doing well xx
