It‘s a day of multiple rabbit holes...I have really enjoyed reading and learning about climbing since reading Into Thin Air by John Krakauer. I walked to this today. This includes a detailed history of the Sherpa, the competition, class and ethnicity. Everest is so known but K2 is more elusive and challenging.

This book is fantastic. Well researched and engaging throughout. So informative and harrowing that I finished it both wanting to climb a small mountain and deciding never to climb anything so tall that it requires bottled oxygen and crampons.

It's always a pleasant surprise when I get a book from thriftbooks that's signed by the author!
