I had my consult for my oral surgery today and while I‘m glad to know what‘s going to happen, I have to wait another week! Thursday‘s have played a weird role in this tooth saga- the wisdom tooth started hurting on a Thursday, first dental appointment was on a Thursday, consult on a Thursday, surgery on a Thursday 🤔🤔🤔

I'm not generally a drama queen when it comes to visiting the dentist, but when the anesthetic wears off halfway through getting a crown, my thoughts of Ireland are not book related. Instead, these become my dreams of Ireland.

Mdargusch Ugh. I‘m getting a crown in 2weeks. I hope that doesn‘t happen to me. I‘m going to listen to a book with headphones and I hope that will relieve some of my anxiety. 7y

I have to get a root canal tomorrow and am honestly a biy nervous. I have never had one before. I normally don't do audiobooks but thought it might help give me something else to focus on. Any one have any suggestions? Definitely not something that will make me laugh lol.

Wilkie I just finished listening to a lovely version of Oliver Twist from Loyalbooks.com. It‘s free and the guy who reads it has a very soothing voice. It might help! I actually never thought about listening to an audiobook at the dentist, it‘s a great idea. 7y

melyndarae @Wilkie Idk if that would keep me focused, I'm worried I'd get bored lol. Ty tho. I only thought of it bc I had asked about putting in headphones for music but then I may want to sing lol. 7y

melyndarae @Kappadeemom That's what I was thinking. I can close my eyes and pretend my mouth isn't pried open wider than it should go with little machines drilling in there. 7y

Bklover When I had a root canal the procedure itself was a piece of cake. Didn‘t feel a thing. It‘s just booooring. Audiobook is a great idea! 7y

melyndarae @Bklover That's good to know. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out and it felt like a lifetime. My aunt was just telling me that her dentist knicked a nerve in her jaw which is causing pain. I'm like thanks for scaring me. 7y

Eggs Root canals are not to be feared nowadays because of the Drugs! And other advancements. No pain afterwards either 7y

melyndarae @Eggs Thanks. When I had my wisdom teeth, they numbed me twice but I still felt the bottom ones come out. I guess that's part of my fear bc it's a bottom molar. 2 types of pain I can't handle, ear pain and tooth pain. 7y

melyndarae @Bklover Aww, you are so sweet. It went well. Took awhile bc my nerve was inflamed so she said I bled a lot and it took extra numbing meds. But otherwise I'm ok. It hurts to open my mouth still, but bonus side effect is some weight loss lol. Ty for asking! 7y
