pickI'd be more inclined to call this a poem with illustrations. The rhyming couplet certainly feature in children's books, but something about the wording and the content (very young readers might have to be reassured at one point that the bunnies will be okay) feels more like a poem that many ages would identify with. Something earthy, yet ethereal, delicately organic, about the art. If you're looking for seasonal reads, try this one in winter!
pickI loved this one. It was my favorite of the library books I picked out for my kid. It had pretty and soft illustrations, it rhymes, it teaches a little about nature (although the idea of wolves hunting bunnies to eat may be a little harsh for some smaller kids - mine likes nature shows so she was fine) and it has a very sweet message. I plan to buy us a copy. #librarybooks
