(Not actually the tagged book, but a short story by the famous magical realism author.)
This deliciously sweet short story about two sisters kept apart, baking, books, and a magical-ish island felt more like Sarah Addison Allen to me than typical Hoffman. I devoured it in one bite nonetheless. Great palate cleanser after some very heavy reading this week.
That was more heartbreaking than I expected. But I still love Alice Hoffman.
My book for March #doublespin. Such an amazing story about a trio of sisters, set in both Paris and New York. Sibling bonds and jealousy, the allure and destructiveness of drugs, loyalty, betrayal, heartbreak and redemption. Such an amazing fantastical story. The black Seine at night...as described in painting done by Elv, the oldest and most troubled of the sisters. #mounttbr2020 @TheAromaofBooks

It was back to school shopping day with the kids. Dotted notebooks were 50% off and this Alice Hoffman was only $5. I didn't even read the blurb, but I always like her books. And $5, I mean, how could I not? That's practically free! I deserved a treat. Shopping with boys is hard.
My favorite part of traveling for work...yes indeed I must check out the largest independent bookseller in the area!
A heart-rending tale of three very different sisters. This book made me glad I only have one daughter, and made me fear for those teenage years that are yet to come when she will likely morph into some unrecognizable creature. A very good audible with a great narrator.
It is a dreary day. Perfect for getting lost in a book. I am loving this one today!!
