This was *so* close to being good. Too many things didn't come together though. I have unanswered questions and, it's weird to say, but there wasn't enough conflict. Everyone is running around outside hiding from each other the whole time. I picked this up because it's set in Mobile, AL, where I live. I would've liked mentions of specific, real places, but the rain was accurate!

The concept is original, dark, & wicked. Character development was spot on- I even had fun hating the characters that were meant to be hated- they felt like real people. The only major issue I had was all the loose ends and unanswered questions. Some things took place without reason, and maybe the author intended for the reader to follow their gut assumptions, but I would have much rather had the story feel complete.

I liked when this book went back on time and dealt with super natural things. The parts set in the present were ok, but less awesome. I liked the overall tone of the book, though.

This book! Just...wow! Amazing!! I could hardly but it down. The characters, the mystery, the ending!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍

Bookmail! This ARC came in a box with black paper, and had a wrapper on it to make it look like an old leather journal. Very creepy! There was also a letter on worn parchment that 100% set the stage for this story. Three sisters become two, and the investigation into the mysterious death of one sister could have dark and dangerous consequences for the other two. 🕯🔮🗝🚪📜This looks like one fun read!
