Bored with her stodgy old book club, Alicia Finlay decides to start a new one-dedicated to her favourite crime writer Agatha Christie. And so she gathers seven quirky members together, including dashing Dr Anders, a poisons expert, socialite Barbara Parlour, librarian Missy (as ditzy as Miss Marple and just as sharp) and fashionistas Claire and Perry who both bear an eerie resemblance to Hercule Poirot. As the new club sip cups of Darjeeling and happily dissect Evil Under the Sun, little do they know they're about to stumble upon a real-life mystery of their own. Barbara suddenly vanishes and her husband seems oddly unperturbed. When he shows up murdered soon after, the group decide to do as the meddling Miss Marple would do, and investigate. So begins a real-life mystery adventure for the Agatha Christie Book Club (ACBC), a motley collection of amateur sleuths who use Christie as their guide. Hey! Looks like all Agatha Christie books are $2 today- which ones would you recommend? I‘m not going to get all of them but want to try out maybe 2 or 3, as I‘ve never read anything by her🙂📖

Librarybelle My favorite is And Then There Were None, which is more on the thriller side of mysteries. But, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is good. Incidentally, a group of us are reading through Christie‘s mysteries and starting with the first one, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. Discussion on January 26th. Everything‘s posted through #ChristiesCapers . 5d

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Terrible stereotypes and fairly flat personalities, but an ok-ish cosy crime. When Barbara, a member of the Agatha Christie Book Club goes missing, the other members take it upon themselves to solve her disappearance. But when their lead suspect ends up murdered, they begin to wonder if they‘ve bitten off more than they can chew.

This was entertaining. My book club just finished an AC novel this month so I thought this would be a fun follow up. It was a unique mystery and I learned a lot about AC. Definitely entertaining, set in Australia. #readwomen

#agathachristielove is easy for me. I cut my mystery reading teeth on Doyle & Christie. I have a definite soft spot for Holmes, Periot, and Marples. I know I have a physical copy of an book or two but apparently I have 20 Christie ebooks, many bought earlier this year (they must have been on special). The one I remember the most is And Then There Were None but I read my Grandma's copy with the very politically incorrect title.

Natasha.C.Barnes I read this on my kindle but the copy had a ton of formatting problems, so every few pages there would just be an all caps "AND THEN THERE WERE NONE" in the middle of a paragraph? At first it seemed kind of creepy and avant garde till I realized it was probably a page header in the print version... 7y

So disappointing. Mediocre writing, the only PoC characters are low income and speak in broken English (and described as speaking such), and the actual plot doesn't draw from Agatha Christie as I had hoped. Made it halfway before deciding it was a waste of time.

Utterly charming - made me want to reread all agatha Christie books. Plus murder on the orient express is coming out as a movie in November! This book is about a book club of Christie lovers who need to solve a real life mystery. Fun cozy mystery.
