I was lucky as a child to have an aunt who encouraged my reading & gave me lots of her much older children‘s old books, including Enid Blyton & her Famous Five or Secret Seven. This is a 1956 edition of one of those books that I loved so much. Thankyou Auntie Lilla!❤️

A few years ago, the hubby & I were on our way to the Hunter Valley for Easter when we were passing through a small town & noticed a church jumble sale on the side of the road. He headed straight to the pocket watches while I went straight to the book table. I managed to find some amazing Enid Blytons in really good condition for their age. This one was printed in 1956.

Some of my favourite memories are visiting my Auntie Lilla in her beautiful old house in Artarmon, going downstairs to the playroom & picking out my favourite Secret Seven or Famous Five book to read and snuggling into the squishy lounge in my spot and spending the next few hours reading. I will adore her to the end of my days for that.💕
