Summoner: The Inquisition
Summoner: The Inquisition | Taran Matharu
More demons, epic battles, and fights to the death: introducing the unmissable next instalment in the New York Times bestselling Summoner series described as 'Harry Potter meets Lord of the Rings meets Pokemon'. On trial for a crime he did not commit, Fletcher must face the Inquisition who will decide his future - the process is gruelling, lead by those who will do anything to see him suffer and haunted by ghosts from the past with clues to Fletcher's tragic origins. But Fletcher has little time to dwell on these new revelations when the king announces a deadly challenge to the graduating students at Vocans. One that involves entering Orc territory to complete a risky mission. With loyal demons by their sides, commoners and nobles, dwarves and elves must overcome barriers of class and race and work together to triumph. The reward: a fortune in gold, the safety of an empire and PEACE. With the entire empire watching, Fletcher has much to prove, but there are those out to get him and it soon becomes clear that there's a traitor in their midst, trying to thwart the mission and create unrest within the Empire. With everything stacked against him, Fletcher must use everything in his power to fight his way to victory. 'Friendship, loyalty, magic and political intrigue beckon ...' The Bookseller

The 2nd book in the series starts out a year after book 1. We learn more about Fletcher‘s lineage and background and together with his friends must try and save Hominum while battling both enemies within as well as the orcish army. I never do this, but I don‘t think I‘ll be reading the 3rd book. Just can‘t get into it and don‘t seem to love any of the characters. It‘s just so-so. #seriesread2022

TheSpineView Too bad! I hate when that happens but life is too short to read books you are npt enjoying. 2y

I‘m a little behind with #bookspinbingo as I‘m desperately trying to get some travelling done before Thailand goes back into lockdown! Like the first book, this was a fun mash-up of Pokemon and Harry Potter that is very much aimed at younger teens. @TheAromaofBooks

Guys. I just finished The Inquisition and believe me when I tell you this man knows how to write a damn book! I am shook at like the whole thing. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and could not read fast enough to find out what was going to happen next! The characters, I love...even the douchebags. The adventure, the magic, the demons, the plot twists, the world building...ALL OF IT! He even got me in my feelers more than once.

This trilogy of books is about a boy named Fletcher, who is a summoner, someone who can summon demons from another world. This particular book in the trilogy is fast paced and filled with action. I recommend it to anybody who is a fan of the first book, or hasn‘t started the trilogy and enjoys fantasy and action. After reading this book, I became hooked on fantasy and sci-fi. Overall a very enjoyable and good read!

MissYaremcio What a great review! I am impressed and intrigued!! Make sure to include all elements of the post next time (you were missing the tone)! 5y

Many of the houses and shops were empty shells, while others had been converted into jails. Rough, dirty faces were pressed against the bars, silently watching Didric‘s strutting figure with hatred in their eyes. The entire place stank of misery and desperation; it was a far throw from the industrious little village Fletcher had grown up in. #patioreading #sunshine

I am really loving this series!
The 1st book, The Novice, was really good and this 2nd one, The Inquisition, is even better! I love Fletcher and Ignatius. They're such a great team, Ignatius sounds so cute. I wish I was a summoner so I could have my own awesome, kick ass demon! 😁
I believe I'll be finished with the tagged book sometime tonight and then I'll have to hurry and order the 3rd and 4th book so I can just read the whole series asap!

Didn't have me as ingrossed ad as the first book. A nice twist at the end - will definitely be reading the third in the series

That moment you realize there is too much story to be *that* close to the end. Sighs.
