Pickpick

The first I read of hers. To this day I cringe at the name Christopher. The villain is a masterpiece! Great for young readers that want to dive into paranormal romance. A read that will pull u in and take you under. Don't sleep on this one!

This is it. This is the first vampire novel I ever read. It was the very early 90s and I was at my very first away-from-home summer camp and not handling it super well. A very nice camp counselor was like “here ya go” and handed me this book. I devoured it in an afternoon and have had a weakness for the fanged undead ever since.

MarriedtoMrT It was probably my first as well. I had big feelings for this one but even bigger feelings for Blood and Chocolate, her werewolf book. Did you read that one? 4y
Miladygrimm @MarriedtoMrT I did! It was a fantastic novel. I really wish she‘d written more because everything she did was gold. 4y

Unfortunately, I just did not like this book. It was very messy. I had high hopes because I loved this authors other book Blood and Chocolate, but oh well. This was my #bookspin pick for this month and also counts toward #MountTBR.

@TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks I'm not sure how I feel about that cover, either haha Sorry this one didn't work out for you, but at least it's off the shelf!! 5y

Current read is my #bookswap pick for this month. It's kinda messy so far, but at least I'm getting it off of my shelf (it's been there for quite a long time). Not quite sure how I feel about this cover, though... Lol.

Johanna414 I remember loving this book when I was like 14, not sure how it would hold up though... 5y
BookKenz @Johanna414 I definitely think middle school aged kids would love this book, but some things are much harder to overlook as an adult. Lol 5y

I LOVE A.C.K. and I‘m always sad that she wrote so few titles. My first love is for Blood and Chocolate (which I own...somewhere...but with the horrible re-release cover) but I also have a special place for The Silver Kiss. More than just werewolf and vampire stories, A.C.K uses those supernatural creatures to make commentary on human feelings and experiences. #Riotgrams #BooksLovedAsATeen

sarahmaclean I can‘t decide how I feel about this cover. It‘s so weird and I can‘t look away. 7y
MarriedtoMrT @sarahmaclean My nostalgia has blinded me but when I look at it objectively you‘re right. It is really weird. Sparse. And she looks like a virginal cult member in a sacrificial white gown which doesn‘t fit at all. But I do still have a thing for him with his 90s bleached hair and leather jacket. 🤷‍♀️ 7y

Mehso-so

Meh. I think this is an early teen vampire romance and deserves some credit being a forerunner but this is pretty close to a short story and the plot is very simple and not terribly compelling. There is a great quote on page 186 about the protagonist attempting to preserve a memory in time. If you want a vampire/teen/romance book, I would recommend LJ Smiths Vampire Diaries 1-3.
