Although I enjoyed The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan, his booker winning novel that I thought was as good as All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, Flanagan‘s First Person is a plodding, navel-gazing novel.

I don‘t know what it is about my 2018 Most Anticipated from authors with previous books that I‘ve loved, but their latest ones fall miserably flat on all of their faces! 😩😩 First Person was no exception. Unfortunately. I am desperate for a knock-out read!!
I haven‘t even really started Educated and the library let me know First Person was in for me.

Painting by Ron Francis
"Less experienced liars would have sought consistency in their untruths. But life is never consistent, and at some point, long before I met him, he had realised that the vast ineptitude of his illusions was by some alchemy their most convincing proof."
The main character's name is Kif and I can't handle it...
I went into Imprints, one of my favourite bookstores, to pick this up and ... well, #yououghtaknow I can‘t stop at one book. 🙈📚
