pickI think this was a great end to the duology. And any book that can give me nightmares and sleepless nights is a good one.
pickWhat a wonderful follow-up to “The Girl From The Well”! This time, it was told from Tark‘s POV instead of Okiku‘s. Much of the action took place in Japan‘s infamous “Suicide Forest”, (which frightens the daylights out of me IRL). Soooo many creepy ghosts from Japanese Folklore! Non-stop ghosts!
Also, I‘m not one to “ship”, but Tark/Okiku = OTP

Okiku is the most adorable freaky-drowned-ghost ever 😂 Also, is it wrong that I kinda ship Okiku & Tark ?
Well, I didn't know there was a second one! Although I didn't love the first one, I like the lore and characters enough to hunt this one down!
pickAn extremely satisfying sequel about death rituals, ghost brides, & the awesome power of love. I loved seeing things from Tark's eyes this time. His humorous voice moved the plot at a wonderful pace. Tark & Okiku were lovely — wistful & sweet, without being overly creepy or too weird. & I'm so GLAD of that ending!! It keeps the possibility open for more adventures of Okiku & Tark to come, which is exactly what I need. ★★★★☆. Third book of #24in48!

pickA creepy thriller sequel to The Girl from the Well, which is kind of like a Ring spinoff - if the girl was actually decent.
I think a lot of us Litsy-obsessed people could sympathize with this sentiment.
My girls think I should stop watching The Heat and keep on reading The Suffering.
pickA good second book, but not necessary to read the first one to follow the story. Most of it took place in Aokigahara forest and was a great mix of creepy and urban legend style stories.
pickOverall, I enjoyed this book! I feel like Rin Chupeco is writing stories that no one else is writing in the YA horror genre. I can't wait for her next book and (hopefully) another book in this series!
pickI loved it. Especially freaky, more so than the first book. This time, the main action is happening in a hidden village in Japan's suicide forest (a real place, btw. Read a few Wikipedia articles abt it and ghosts in Japan. Fascinating.) Anyway, ghost girls galore and a curse. Delicious stuff.
Currently reading this and it's freaking me out. Which I love. Nevertheless, I'm taking a short break. And i love that it's making me do that bec I don't really get freaked out by horror books much, so when I do, it's great.
