I‘m closing in on #52mysteries with this entry for Kentucky. Blue states are completed, green states are to be read with the books identified, and the gold state is a book from my shelf. The other two are DC and Puerto Rico, which are on different maps!

This was an interesting book. A little convoluted, definitely dated, but with good bones of a story. Not much sense of place. The author is now known (if at all) for being Sue Grafton‘s father.

Pickpick

While investigating the value of a stock inherited by his client, attorney (and amateur sleuth) Gilmore Henry, unwittingly becomes embroiled in a scandalous murder mystery. For fans of noir fiction, this was an entertaining and intriguing mystery originally published in 1943, with a wonderfully quirky and awkward leading man, and many period references that enhanced the atmospheric setting of this novel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #NetGalley #ReadTheUSA2020 #Kentucky

Es ist doch schon wirklich interessant, wie sehr die Übersetzungen allein schon im Buchtitel vom Original abweichen können. 😉 Das verknüpfte Buch ist die Originalausgabe. 😉

It's quite interesting, how much the translation (in this case it's just the book title) differs to the original. The tagged book is the original title. 😉
