Late November
A R Ammons
The white sun
like a moth
on a string
circles the south pole.

Well, I started reading this last winter and enriched each season with these poems! Finished with fall. Very enjoyable set of poems about each season. As always with these Everyman‘s Library Pocket Poets, I highly recommend!
😍❄️🌨☃️🌦🌈🌷🌞🌴🌳🍂🍁🌾
The standard bearer of fall poems - William Shakespeare. Love that last line in particular. That‘s why we love transitional seasons, right? It doesn‘t last long so the love is sweeter. And the bare ruined choirs where the late sweet birds sang. Ohhh my heart!
Love this imagery too! Thomas Hardy poem here. Risqué and creepy at the same time.
‘Spicy woods‘ - love that description of October trees!! This is by Helen Hunt Jackson.
I love nature poems! The autumn and winter sections were my favorites, probably because those are my favorite seasons.
I find that happening to me sometimes, particularly if something‘s bothering me. I try to read to take my mind off things but my mind keeps going!
Here‘s my summary for the 2nd season of #booked2018. I‘m glad I‘m doing this - it‘s making me read books I would never have touched otherwise. Thanks for organizing, @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage and @4thhouseontheleft !
A poem about spring - [In Just-] by ee Cummings. Funny description - puddle-wonderful 😄💦
