Don't Wake Up
Don't Wake Up: A shocking and compelling new thriller that you will not be able to put down! | Liz Lawler
Alex Taylor wakes up tied to an operating table. The man who stands over her isn't a doctor. The offer he makes her is utterly unspeakable. But when Alex re-awakens, she's unharmed - and no one believes her horrifying story. Ostracised by her colleagues, her family and her partner, she begins to wonder if she really is losing her mind. And then she meets the next victim. So compulsive you can't stop reading. So chilling you won't stop talking about it. A pitch-black and devastatingly original psychological thriller.

From the beginning, this book was a little hard for me to get into. The ability of the author to instill discomfort and anxiety in her readers is a true measure of her craft, but it was almost off-putting as I found it hard to really stay engaged in the story. About half way through the story really picks up and I couldn't put it down! While I was able to figure out the mastermind behind the tradgey, I didn't really feel the ending was rewarding.

Dr. Alex Taylor is living a nightmare! She honestly believes she has been kidnapped, assaulted and left for dead. As she begins to share her story, she realizes no one believes her. Events begin to happen around her and she's blamed for these too. Was it all in her head? Is this because of her attack last year?

I enjoyed the suspense and thrill of this story. Although, I did figure it out pretty early on I still enjoyed how the story played out.

One of the creepiest thrillers I have read in quite a while

swishandflick I've had an ARC of this on my shelf for a while but had a surgery of my own on the horizon and was too creeped out to read it. Now that I'm on the other side maybe I'll have to finally give it a go 😂 6y
RadicalReader If you like creepy thrillers be sure to check out this incredible gripping great novel that will also be a Netflix series 6y

I haven‘t read a crime/mystery book for a while because I tired of the predictable endings. Don‘t Wake Up was an interesting read, which has reignited my interest in the genre. An easy to read, interesting and sometimes tense story, with a likeable protagonist.

An average read - this book has been rated quite well but it was just ok for me. The premise for a great thriller is definitely there, unfortunately it didn‘t reach it‘s potential.

Just what I needed to get out of my reading funk! Gripping and well paced, which had me wanting to skip to the end. Only drawback for me was that the ending seemed a little rushed. Overall enjoyable.

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

I loved the storyline but I wasn't a fan of how some of it was written. Other than that it was a very suspenseful thriller.

It follows Alex Taylor after she's been found in the parking lot of the hospital she works in. She tries to convince everyone that she had been abducted and that the murders that are taking place around her are caused by the same person who took her.

"So compulsive you can't stop reading."

I'll say... 70% done. The writing isn't the best (or worst) but I must know what happens! ?

This started interesting but has slowed down a bit. Still good though. 33% in.
