Slow to start, it took a while before the plot got compelling. While you‘re waiting however, there‘s some wonderful descriptions of the natural environment where this tribe is based, as well as depictions of their tools, artefacts and a glimpse into their culture.

My uncle dropped off some of his excellent homemade bread yesterday, so that‘s breakfast sorted.

Book-wise, I‘m still plodding along through THE REINDEER PEOPLE. It‘s interesting enough that I have no reason not to finish it, but not so gripping that I want to devote serious time to it. I‘ll finish it today and consider whether I want to keep the next book on hand or write it off.

xicanti @Nute bleu cheese. I put it on the toast straight out of the fridge, ate the buttered piece first, then smushed the softened cheese down when its turn came. It was soooo good. 4y

I‘m giving THE REINDEER PEOPLE a try this afternoon. It passed the 3-chapter test, but I‘m still not sure it‘ll grip me hard enough to justify a finish. Maybe I‘m projecting my experience with the Ki & Vandien books onto it, though.

xicanti @cozypunk I think they‘re both pen names, but going by the copyright on her older books Megan Lindholm has more bits of her real name in it. 4y

I know there are some Robin Hobb fans on Litsy. Would anyone be interested in these 2 books? They are used and the pages are turning yellow, but other than that the condition is pretty good.
