#bfc #bookfitnesschallenge #Week2 #checkin
Pictures from my neighborhood walks. My village green, our village little free library, a neighbor‘s garden, the Farmington River. Only fit two walks in this week totaling 4.19 Miles, not the 6 miles that is my weekly goal. Did read tagged book, and responded to posts. 😀 hoping to walk tomorrow morning.

wanderinglynn Way to go! The important thing is you did walk & got some good miles in. 🙌🏻 6y

#bfc #bookfitnesschallenge

Once again I forgot to hit pause while walking when stopping to chat this afternoon. Finished the tagged book this week, so keeping up with the book part of the challenge. Not sure I will make the fitness goals- tomorrow I have tutoring then going to an author event, Martha Hall Kelly, of Lilac Girls and Lost Roses. So no walking time.

#LakeComo #Italianpastry #sfogliatina

“An apple sfogliatina is certainly not something to pass up lightly.”

Only on page 83, but the cafes, coffee & Italian pastry Stefania, the inspector, consumes, has my mouth watering!

#saturdaymorning #booksandbreakfast

First breakfast on my porch with my husband. It is cool today. But sitting here in sweats & a blanket is a pleasure- no rain!!!!!! I loving this book.Setting is by Lake Como, where my husband & I spent a day on our honeymoon (a week in Paris, a week in Verona).Stefania Valenti, police Inspector, is a well fleshed out character. Mystery: A 40+yr old body discovered buried deep underground, dating back to WWII.

#porchlife #booksandcoffee
Took a much needed personal day, and am having coffee on the porch waiting for the the deluge of rain that is threatening. We only had two days this week without rain and I was at work of course. Hoping to fit a walk in before these ominous clouds burst. Quite cool; in sweats! A cold wet spring- if you can call it that. 🌂🌧

Mehso-so

A translation from Italian. This one dragged on and on to a logical conclusion. The descriptions of the Lake Como area were the best parts the novel. Almost bailed on this one.

Pickpick

First book by this married couple from Italy. A captivating read with plot threads from WWII to present day. If you enjoy the historical frame of northern Italy and southern Switzerland, this is a fun read. Partisans, patriarchy, and a female Investigator.
(The translation is a bit rough in spots and produces a few weak transition plot points.)
