Great start to a new vampire series. A different take on vampires for sure. Nathaniel Cade has been a vampire for 140 years and is sworn to protect the president. Vampire secret service, image that. The character development was fabulous and I enjoyed the plot and different take on vampires. 4.5⭐

This novel is like Interview With the Vampire meets Jason Bourne. Amazing action. Incredible world building. Fantastic characters. I devoured it. I do hope that my library has the other books in the series.

I'm not one for political thrillers, they mostly bore me and make me itch. But I really enjoyed this! It reminded me of the show "24" in terms of quick pace and no one is safe. I will be picking up the next book. The narrator, Bronson Pinchot, was great. Easy to follow and did the voice of Cade (the vampire) perfectly. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes vampires and political thrillers. Very fun read!
