“Wherever his feet carried him, he planted apple seeds and shared stories of the wonders of the wilderness.“ This quote captures Johnny Appleseed‘s spirit of adventure and his deep connection to nature, which are central themes in the book.
Johnny Appleseed published in 1988 is a beautifully retelling of the classic American tale about John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed. Kellogg presents Johnny as a gentle, kind-hearted man who traveled across the American frontier, planting apple trees and spreading goodwill. The book blends historical facts with legendary elements, emphasizing Johnny's love for nature and animals, his generosity, and his adventurous spirit
This book is a great introduction to folktales. The illustrations are whimsical and bright. The author explains the story in a way that is easy for children to understand.
Johnny Appleseed by Steven Kellogg (1988). This story has color, yet dull illustrations. This book is good for the reader to see different culture and ways of living.
Review: Johnny Appleseed by Steven Kellogg, 1988 is a traditional children's book about a man who grows apple trees. It's a cool story because Johnny Appleseed was a real person, but over time his story has turned into a fictional one.
Blurb: This story has really cool illustrations as well as a cool theme that children find fun and hard to believe.
Quote: “He thanked the exhausted woodsmen for there help and began planting.“
I love how Johnny Appleseed is not an ordinary person and is so in love with nature.
Johnny Appleseed by Stephen Kellogg was a great children‘s book. It was a book about true events of Johnny Appleseed. This is a great book for children to learn about who Johnny Appleseed was. The illustrations were amazing. I think children would really enjoy this read. It is an educational yet really cute book.

Steven Kellogg has always been one of my favorite illustrators. I've loved this one and his Paul Bunyan and Pecos Bill books since I was a kid.
