Winner of the 2012 eLit Publishing Awards Humor Category Shortlisted for the 2012 Shirley You Jest Awards Shortlisted for the 2013 Indie Excellence Awards Tara Babcock awakes the morning after her 30th birthday with a hangover that could kill an elephant - and the knowledge she is still no closer to achieving closure on her marriage breakup. Things go from bad to worse when she discovers that, not only is her ex-husband engaged to her cousin - Tash, the woman he left her for - but that Jake is also running for Lord Mayor of Sydney. Desperate to leave the destructive relationship behind and with nothing to lose, she decides- with encouragement from her three best friends - to follow the dubious advice from a magazine article, Closure in Seven Easy Steps. The Seven Steps to Closure follows Tara on her sometimes disastrous- always hilarious - path to achieve the seemingly impossible. A credible and amazingly touching debut novel from Donna Joy Usher, this is a solid, light-hearted and honest read with plenty of laughs.

I laughed so hard. It was funny from the start.

Wonderful #romcom from Australia.

Karkar I love this cover. I have so had to do this to get a suitcase shut before. 😮 6y
julesG @Karkar But she's trying to shut it on her ex. Which is a hilarious story. 6y

#LitsyWalkers @kaye

20 minutes through the old part of the town this morning, in between two appointments.

Picture shows the red phone box the town was given by our twin town in Britain. It's in front of one of the churches in the town centre and part of the old theatre building (right).
I covered the ugly builder's van.

ju.ca.no Pretty! 6y
Tanisha_A That red phone box! ❤️ 6y
Kaye Glad you got out again today. Do you know how old the church is ? 6y

julesG @kaye I don't know, but I know where to find the info. The original church was built in 1236. It was destroyed in WWII (Sept 30th, 1944). The current church has a different architecture from the original one and was built between 1954 and 1963. 6y
MelissaSue81 So beautiful. 6y
Kaye Wow, it looks a lot older than that. I‘m always fascinated by really old buildings and their history. 6y
Kalalalatja Looks nice! 6y
DarcysMom I would love to live somewhere with so much history. 6y
Emilymdxn Do you mind me asking whereabouts you live? It looks beautiful 6y
julesG @Emilymdxn I don't mind. It's called Bielefeld, it's in the western part of Germany. 6y
Emilymdxn It‘s lovely! I love Germany, I did my language exchange at school with a family from the west of Germany, it‘s a gorgeous place. My Germans pretty terrible now cause I stopped practising, but I want to go back and speak it again 6y
julesG You're welcome any time. @Emilymdxn 6y
Weaponxgirl Ahh, I haven‘t seen one of those in the wild for years. 6y
julesG @Weaponxgirl It's not working. And it's locked most of the year. They put a Santa Claus in it in December. 6y
Weaponxgirl So you were locked out and he was locked in 😂 6y
julesG @Weaponxgirl Yes! I've been thinking about glueing a racey ad to the phone box. Just in case Santa gets lonely. 6y
rockpools Your red phone box is in considerably better shape than ours!! I do love seeing your town - it‘s very pretty. 6y
julesG @RachelO Thanks. It was in bad shape last summer, but the city council had it repaired. 6y

Another 20 minutes.🚶🚶🚶1.2 kilometres.

💃💃💃💃

Started sunny but once I was at the cemetery the sun was gone and some small snowflakes fell.

This #audiobook keeps me walking around with a giant grin on my face. It's so funny.

@kaye #LitsyWalkers

Bklover Woohoo!! Good for you! Pretty photos 👏👏👏 6y
Kaye 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. You get 5 stars for going out twice today ! It looks better there today without the rain. It‘s good to see green grass. The area there in the cemetery photo - are those graves stacked, like a family or couple ? Or does everyone get their own plot underground ? I know they do things differently in some places. We have lots here where a husband and wife are “stacked”, depending on who croaks first. I don‘t want one of those. 6y
julesG @kaye Those stacked things are for ashes, if the family doesn't want to get a whole plot for the urn. There was a cat engraved on one of them. I didn't take a picture of it though. 6y

Maria514626 What a lovely walk! The book sounds great. 🤞 my library has it! 6y
julesG @Maria514626 Expect a lot of humour. Yes, cheesy sometimes but it's good. 6y
julesG @kaye Sun is out again now. 🙈 6y

#LitsyWalkers @kaye

Just 15 minutes. Might go again this afternoon.

The sky above my street. Interesting colours. I hope it's not going to rain again.

rockpools Yay! 👏👏👏 6y
Kaye Great 👍🏼. Good to wake up here at 4 AM and see the first #LitsyWalker already out and walking. Good for you for going out for day 2. ♥️ Do what you can , just remember it‘s not a race or a contest. You sky does look different today. Hope the rain holds off. Do you get snow there where you live ? (edited) 6y
julesG @kaye We rarely get snow. And that's for the better. People here can't handle snow. For someone from a snow rich area I can only try not to drive on snow days, because people just don't know what to do and I don't want to get in the way. 6y

Kaye That‘s good if you don‘t get much snow. We often talk about retiring to a warmer state that has better weather during winter, but I‘m not sure we ever will. We‘ve both lived in Ohio our entire lives. I know here, when we get our first couple of snows there are more accidents because people don‘t remember how to drive in it at first. (edited) 6y
julesG @kaye We have similarly wet weather as Scotland, the scenery just isn't as nice. And definitely not enough whisky distilleries around. 😁 6y
Kaye Have you gotten to visit lots of other countries ? It‘d be neat to see other spots around the world . I have to see them through other people‘s eyes who have been there.....for now at least . 6y
julesG @kaye I travelled a lot as a teenager and in my early twenties. Haven't done much travelling since I've had kids. But I go to a lot of magical places in books. 😉 6y
Kaye Yes, one of the wonders of books. We can see other places and live other lives without ever leaving the spot we‘re sitting in. 6y
Cinfhen Pretty colors 6y

#LitsyWalkers @kaye

According to my fitbit I managed 1.400 metres in 25min. I'm cold and wet, but proud that I left the house without anything but walking on the agenda.

The book might not have been the best choice for a walk across the cemetery. I chuckled a few times, luckily no one was around.

Kaye Jules, it‘s very pretty there. The picture of the lane looks so nice. What is the building with the round tower on it ? I‘m so proud of you. Our first #LitsyWalker ! 6y
julesG @kaye Thank you! I'm proud, too. It's the sanctuary of the church next to the cemetery. I tried to take pictures that do not show the modern buildings in the neighborhood. 6y
Kaye It‘s lovely. It‘ll be interesting to see everyone‘s photos each day. It won‘t be a contest against each other. As long as you get out and walk, that‘s the main goal. If you want to keep track of your times to see if you can do better, that‘s fine. Or if you just want to stay at the same level, that‘s fine too. Our only goal will be to walk daily. Thanks for taking part. 6y

julesG @kaye like the idea of challenging myself but not competing against anyone. I'm hoping I can get to an hour of normal walking or half an hour of power walking one day. But on a wet day like today, I think I did quite well. 6y
Kaye I think you did terrific. Go at your own pace. I want this to be fun, but also motivate us to each try every day. If we can do it in the bad weather, just think how nice it‘ll be when the weather gets better ! 6y
julesG @kaye I turned back home when my foot started dropping. I have foot-drop in my right leg, due to the damn MS. So, any walking is good. Tomorrow, I'll probably just get off the tram a stop before the one I use to get to my doctor's. 😉 6y
Freespirit Wow what a beautiful place to walk @julesG 6y
Kaye I understand , Jules. You don‘t realize how much you are motivating others. Don‘t push yourself too hard. Go at your own pace. I‘m so very proud of you. 6y
julesG @Freespirit @kaye - Thank you! 6y
Cinfhen Pretty and impressive!! I‘m terrible about being motivated in cruddy weather 6y
hermyknee Incredible photos 💙 6y
julesG @Cinfhen Exactly that's why I did it. I knew I had to get it done in foul weather. 6y
julesG @hermyknee Thank you! 6y
nudibranch Do you live in Narnia? Because I'm pretty sure you live in Narnia. 😍 6y
9999 It does look like Narnia! Great job @julesG You got this!!!! 6y
julesG @nudibranch @sskk No, sorry, just the wettest town in western Germany. 😉 But I like the idea. 6y
sprainedbrain Gorgeous, even if wet and cold. 😃 6y
alisiakae You live in a beautiful area! 6y
