I haven‘t read a whole lot of King as an adult. Gerald‘s Game is one that I‘ve seen many of my favorite authors and book pals say is their top King, so I‘m going to give it a try. Perfect timing that my hold came in time for #horrorin24

Another #BookSpinBingo marked off! @TheAromaofBooks

This King novel really messed with my head, but oh how I loved it. 😀 It's been on my shelves forever and I'm sad I waited so long to experience this cringe-worthy physiological thriller.

Gerald's Game takes place mostly in the mind of a woman who's trapped and desperate to escape when she finds herself handcuffed to a bed in the middle of the woods.

Now to watch the Netflix movie.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 4y
PaperbackPirate I‘ve been meaning to read this forever! 2021! 4y

Had to get at least one Stephen King book in this month. I didn't really know what to expect from this one. It was a bit of a wild ride. I enjoyed the premise. Not totally sure how I feel about the last few chapters, but overall an enjoyable read.

Wtf did I just read?!?! I‘m literally green 🤢🤢🤢
I may not be cut out for King after all...

Meaw_catlady I watched like 5 minutes of the movie. And I could not handle it 😨 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Meaw_catlady part of me is curious about the movie but the rest of me knows it‘s a terrible idea! I cannot get this sick feeling to pass! 🤢 6y
CogsOfEncouragement I have not read this, but since you did, you might like to read Dolores Claiborne. (The books are connected in the Stephen King Universe.) I‘m super wimpy and was able to handle that one. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @CogsOfEncouragement thanks for the tip! I think I may have to hold off a bit before I try another Stephen 👑 but I‘ll add it to the list! 6y
CogsOfEncouragement Understood. I have not read him back to back either. I‘m currently reading The Girl with the Red Balloon with #BigLibraryRead and then I have some cozy mysteries lined up. 6y

One of those books that makes me want to put it in the freezer (points if you get the Friends reference). It had some creepy, scary scenes but mostly this was a terrifying, anxiety-provoking psychological thriller. Also some very uncomfortably scenes describing childhood molestation. But dang can King tell a story. It had my heart pounding so I give it 4 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wow. This book is intense. There are parts that are difficult to read. I wasn't expecting it to be "creepy", but it really was. There was a twist to it that I didn't know about. Well, a couple, actually. I will watch the movie this weekend.

This book terrified me. The realistic qualities of this book, made Gerald's Game scarier than any other of the King books I have read.

Taking this reading party outside. You can't tell from her face but she likes it. She hates that she can't catch the birds, but bugs are fun too.

I also have to mention Gerald's game as a favorite... Here in Brazil people don't usually like this one, but I think it is brilliant!
