Could this guy have been any more pretentious and self righteous? If it wasnt such a short book to begin with I would have bailed. It's a lecture and an essay he wrote about architecture, morality, industry and religious beliefs through history.
Given what I know, he seems to have wilfully misinterpreted a lot of historical facts to fit his ideas too 😑
It was not an easy read, and there is no way I'd read it again.

This book was so boring. I had to force myself to finish it.

Some good points but I found the writing style hard to follow at times. I liked the first essay, Traffic, better than the second.

Frustrating read. I really liked most of Ruskin's points I just thought he made them in a painful way that was unnecessarily awkward to follow. I might revisit but I'm very unsure

Onto the last essay in this mini collection by penguin, hoping to like it more than the first

And onto the next little black classic
