I forgot I had requested this from #NetGalley so I was pleasantly surprised when I got the approval email. I have been coveting this one for some time. The cover and premise had me hooked. Overall, it was good, a pick, but not as good as I had hoped. This is pretty much how I feel about all the Swoon books I've tried. I like the idea of the imprint but because of the crowdsourcing format I don't think the books get edited as much as they should.

I was really excited to read this book, and I LIKED it, but I had some issues with it. The premise of this book was a lot of the draw for me. I found the main characters, Max & Jillian, to be a realistic kind of flawed. High school & family drama played a large part in the evolution of their relationship, but I found myself wanting more of Max & Jillian as 'Max & Jillian.'

3.5 stars - still recommend!

I really liked this. It was sweet, sassy, and angsty and I loved it. Oh...and all the baking Jilly does too. Yum.

While I did end of up enjoying it, and reading it all in one sitting, I did have a huge problem with some things between Max and Jill. Jill's dad was THE WORST. I thought the first thing was bad, but the second thing, ugh, her dad knows no bounds. What I really loved about the book was Jill's relationship with her stepmother and how it evolved. Upperman does a great job with this, and many of the other family relationships and friendships.

Need a little YA romance in my life right now. Also, I get to meet the author in August when she comes to @FountainBookstore for a signing! #eArc #edelweiss
