pick9/10 There are some plot holes that I feel are overlooked just because the story is kept short. I feel like both halves could‘ve been longer than 250 ish pages each. I really loved Gemma the entire time but it took much longer to warm up to Lyra. Maybe that‘s the point but I don‘t like that I found myself only wanting to hear Lyras point of view.
pickWell that escalated quickly...this was something I said to myself several times while reading the book. This second book did not disappoint and I was on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next with my head spinning with the plot twists. I don‘t know why it took me so long to read these, but glad I did and again loved the alternative reading options.
pickThe cover of #ringer by #laurenoliver beautifully represents the premise of the novel. No spoilers (it is book 2!), but the key is that the parallel stories of Lyra and Gemma can be read in either order, that each complements and enriches the other. Not my favorite by the author (I‘d recommend starting with Before I Fall or the Delirium trilogy) but a compelling, engaging story nonetheless.

pickI finished my first book of the year! This is the second novel in the Replica series. Overall it was a good book, however for some reason it took me a little while to read it. I give it 4/5 stars!
Quite impressed with the questions Lauren Oliver explores in 'Ringer'. It's well written too.
pickEvery now and then, the second book in a series roars out and catches you off guard. I really enjoyed book 1, and remember it being emotional, but book 2 hit me so much harder. I read Gemma‘s half first and the non-stop horror was intense. Some books offer worlds that you don‘t want to leave, but I couldn‘t wait to see how Gemma‘s resolved. However Lyra‘s story felt a bit more balanced, emotionally. Overall a haunting read, and so well written.
