This might be the worst book I‘ve ever read. No character development, all the characters were fillers, the plot was pointless, mental illness was used as a personality booster, the main character got so many lucky breaks... even though I read this book because I heard how horrible it is, I still ended up making the same expression as the cover because I don‘t understand how this got published.
This is a phenomenal novel! I truly love it! I couldn't put this book down. It has got so much feels to it. Although, I must admit it's quite deep and dark. And the melancholy it brings, makes you want to curl up into your bed and stare into blank space for a while. Definitely a re-read!
On to the next one!
I'm going at a reading rate of 5 days per book. I feel so slow!
Made me feel things.
So this book wasn‘t quite what I was expecting. It wasn‘t that bad but it just wasn‘t as good as I expected it to be. I had these high expectations going in and it didn‘t live up to it. It had a lot of potential to be something amazing but it fell flat.
In a way it reminded me aesthetically of Lana Del Rey‘s music. Since I like Lana Del Rey, I did appreciate that aspect of this book.
This is my currently reading. I‘m super excited to be reading it.
I used to think people were like lighthouses. That they were there to protect you. But they're not. People are like whirlpools. They pull you in; they drag you under. You have to work so hard just to keep your head above water.

I read this in 24hours. The reason I gave it a so-so is because I don't think this book is for everyone despite the hype of the anticipation. It's an easy read, but in my opinion it did got denser as it got to the end. I did not exactly have concrete expectations on the book except that I wanted it to be literary fiction. But it ain't exactly that. Anyhow it was a good read, simple, a little dark, but hits.
I was told this story has a happy ending. I saw the author's packed signings in the Philippines and was curious about her work. I just killed a fairy (ie peeked at the ending) and omfg I don't know what I've let myself in for.
"..But i would love to write something, maybe a book. I want to travel to a small town someday - one with fir trees and snowcapped mountains. Than I would spend an entire winter writing to my heart's content."

"Those who wish to sing, always find a song." Swedish Proverb
The Law of Attraction is a mysterious and beautiful thing. Those who venture out with the intention of finding joy, will find joy. Those seeking misery will find their misery. .
The Human heart is so strong willed that it will propel us to the very corners of the Earth to find what it desires. Do not deny what your love-filled heart desires, for it will bring you happiness.
It‘s amazing what people create using their pain. Work that is touched by melancholy has its own unique beauty. Even the word ‘melancholy‘ is pretty, the way it rolls on your tongue. I think sadness adds something to literature that is unique. It‘s an ingredient like . . .” I thought for a moment. “Like salt. Salt has that power to completely transform a dish. I think sadness has that same transformative effect in literature.

#currentlyreading this one and I'm like "I'm addicted with this book and i can't stop reading though it's 2:30AM OMG."
I bought Sad Girls by Lang Leav finally today and I can't wait to read it.
"I don't know what I am to you."
"I don't either, I don't know what we are to each other. But whatever it is, I know I don't want to lose it."
"I don't either. I don't know what this is, but Iike it."
"Me too."
Sad Girls illustrates the growing pains of experiencing love for the first time as well as the darker, deeper pains of anxiety and the unintended consequences of lies that go too far. Leav says it best: “Your first love isn‘t the first person you give your heart to; it‘s the first one who breaks it.” You'll fall in love with Sad Girls, and it'll break your heart in the most beautiful, poignant ways, but you won‘t be able to put it down.
