Between a pick and a so-so for me, this collection of short stories will probably thoroughly appeal to fans of mad scientists. I liked some but some left me cold. A reviewer friend lent this to me literally years ago. It‘s outside my wheelhouse so I haven‘t picked it up and had no idea how to return it without reading it. So, as one of my reading resolutions this year (returning books to their rightful owners), I‘m going to give it a whirl and then surprise the heck out of her by returning it. (She probably doesn‘t even remember I have it it‘s been so long.)
1) I‘m a simple girl, I‘ll just take the ability to run fast or time slowing abilities.
2) I think I‘d enjoy partying with hobbits.
3) Gandalf. For the same reason as the hobbits mostly. And he‘d save me a fortune on fireworks for the 4th of July.
