Rebus book 20, I can't believe i have been reading about this wonderful creation since the late 1990's and he never disappoints. I used to worry abt how a hero ages over a series but have now decided I don't care just keep going, if rebus is 100 and still locking horns with big gear cafferty as he does here I won't care. In this bk he is retired but back to stick his oar in a Glasgow Edinburgh crime lord face off.

TrishB I came very late to series so still only on 5 or 6. Good to know they‘re still good! 4y
Tove_Reads Hmm, I‘ve felt like the last few were not as good as the previous ones. 4y
Andrew65 Still waiting for the libraries to open so can continue with these. 4y

Andrew65 @TrishB Think on 14 and still loving them and Rankin‘s writing style. 4y
TrishB @Andrew65 good to know 👍🏻 4y
andrew61 @Tove_Reads think it's like an old cardigan or jumper, just feels good to fall into the world. Yes sometimes up and down but I think so long as I leave a gap i enjoy going back Edinburgh seedy side. 4y
MsMelissa My husband was just talking about Ian Rankin the other day, saying that he writes so well and that it was time for him to re-read the Rebus series. I‘ve still only read the first book, but plan to continue the series. 4y

Another John Rebus book, I think this is number 19. Big Ger Cafferty is still around to pester Rebus. Another good crime book. The next two are in my library luckily! #crimebooks

I feel like I‘m ready to read all the thriller/mystery books in the world at the moment. So happy I‘ve found many new fantastic sounding series, but I still have some “good old friends” to turn to. ❤️🙂

PerksOfBeingABookworm I‘m on a thriller/mystery kick too! Just finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last night. The semester is over, so I have plenty of time to read as many thrillers as I can! I hope you read some good ones. 6y

#audiopuzzling with John Rebus, Siobhan Clark and Malcolm Fox.

I was very pleased with this one. The last charity shop puzzle was rather disappointing: really difficult pattern and too many pieces missing.

merelybookish Looks great! I always do a puzzle at Xmas. 6y

I struggled with this but it's probably because it's my first Ian Rankin book and this particular book was number 20 in the series, I shall try the first book in the series and see how I get on from there.

My #24in48 closing survey. I have no suggestions for the organizers, so I decided to focus on what worked or didn't work for me personally.

Megnogged Way to go!!! Snacks are key!!! Haha. 8y

rabbitprincess @Megnogged I bought a box of gouda biscuits, which was a mistake. Should've bought two 😄 @BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks! It was a fun weekend 😊 8y

Another solid installment in the series. Fox is integrated more into the fold after leaving the Complaints. Once I've read the entire series, I'll reread them in order.

Another book down for #24in48. There wasn't much left to read in this one. So far during the readathon I have finished off two books and read a third in its entirety.

Now this one, I tried to read slow because I like Rebus, cranky retired policeman, back on a case as a consultant to Shiobhan. Big Ger is back too! Settled in with tea and biscuits and cigarettes pretending I was in the Kingdom of Edinburgh
