In a hilarious and often poignant debut YA novel, Jesse Alderman—or "Sway," as he's known—avoids emotional connection at all costs, but he's ultimately forced to open his heart when he meets the girl of his dreams.

My current commuting #audiobook. The hero is an awful teenage drug dealer and yet I'm really enjoying this spin on the Cryrano de Bergerac story.

readinginthedark Hm...that seems like a strange twist! 7y
AmandaL @readinginthedark It is! So much in the story is offensive too. (Purposely done by the author, it seems.) I think a lot of people could be turned off by it. Yet, I'm compelled to keep listening. 7y

Book 60. I read some reviews complaining about how problematic and unlikeable the main character was, but wasn't that the point? He was the way he was for a reason and I believe that he made better choices once the book was over.

senaiwilks For me Bridget was really annoying. She just seemed like every single girl who boys fall in love with on books, television, and movies. There was nothing original about her. I want a love story about a girl who is outspoken, independent, brave, snarky, and not always nice. Basically almost the complete opposite of Bridget. 7y

This book is amazing in every way. I loved the characters, Jessie and Bridget, who are both hilarious and have totally different perspectives of the world around them. Kat Spears brings this whole book together. You do have to get through your hatred of Ken being with Bridget though. Enjoy!
