How I love this series! Maine setting, along the coastline…sigh…

In this book, Julia‘s mom receives a mysterious package, which leads Julia to Boston. And, there‘s a nor‘easter on the way.

Engaging writing, and I love to see the character development. Another win for the series! #52BookClub23 #TitleStartingWithTheLetterI

batsy I read this some years ago but I enjoyed it! 11mo

I didn‘t read this series in order and wish I had. It‘s such a great cast of characters. I love Julia and her sleuthing skills. I love that the main mystery is her family, finding them and tracking down answers. It was a really good mystery, I think I‘ll check out others in the series. #readwomen #cozymystery #readharderchallenge - cozy mystery

I was expecting a light cozy murder mystery in Maine, but this was a much deeper story. Decades old family secrets are unearthed, facilitated by reappearance of the long missing Black Widow diamond necklace.

It is a very personal story, more about the details of the family than a typical murder mystery.

batsy I enjoyed this one, too! 6y
mabell @batsy Have you read any of her books? I LOVE Maine, which is what drew me to this one 😊 6y

Needed some light reading after The Story of a Brief Marriage. Got this via NetGalley and it fit the bill for a #palatecleanser. This was cosy and pleasant; interesting enough for a mystery, with a warm but not cheesy happy ending and well-developed characters. There's also some delicious food involved and recipes at the back. I liked it well enough to consider reading the others in the Maine Clambake series the next time I need something fun.

LauraBrook I just rediscovered the first in this series in a stack yesterday! (I think I need a cozies-only bookshelf, they tend to get lost.) 7y
batsy @LauraBrook That would be a lovely shelf! I'm probably going to give the first one a try at some point. (And I'd like an extra life where I can read cozies all day with an unlimited supply of coffee and pastries.) 7y
LauraBrook @batsy Heck yes to the extra life part!!! 🤘🏼 7y

Part of the Maine Clambake series, outside the usual cast of characters. A good installment to the series with room for more!

I finished this cute #cozymystery tonight. A series set on the Maine coast during the February nor'easters? Sign. Me. Up. I'm sure it will horrify @mrsmarch that I read this one (book 5) before any others in the series, but what can I say? It called to me. Also #blamemrbook 😂

MrBook Yaaaay!!!! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I'm so happy you've read a #TBRtemptation. It brings a tear of joy to my eye ☺️. 8y
Thedrunkstrawberry I'm always looking for a good cozy mystery series. I can't wait to check this one out!!! 8y
mrsmarch I am suitably horrified, altho 2 of my most favorite series I started mid-stream and had to go back and start over -- Amelia and Brother Cadfael. I'm actually more horrified you read it DURING A NOREASTER. 8y

Pinkmeghan Thanks @MrBook I'll be returning this to the library today so any other Littens in my library loan network will have their #tbrtemptation chance! 😂 8y
Pinkmeghan @Thedrunkstrawberry this one was cute! And you could tell that the author knew the area they were writing about which I always think is a plus! 8y
Pinkmeghan @mrsmarch ha I knew you would be! 😂 it was actually pretty good, and you can tell the author is a Mainer, no off the wall generalizations about New Englanders or crazy geography. 8y

cathysaid Kind of them to let you live there. 8y
mrsmarch *squints* Is that Angel? And.....tolerating Rosie? 8y
Pinkmeghan Ha I agree @cathysaid It's their house I just live here 😂 8y

Pinkmeghan @mrsmarch yes to both, they usually don't mind each other these days unless Rosie gets a bit sassy with Angel. 8y
mrsmarch @Pinkmeghan Don't sass Angel, Rosie, you won't win. 8y
Pinkmeghan @mrsmarch one of these days, she'll get that memo. 😂 8y

This is an accurate depiction of me and my husband. Substitute "Meghan" for "Steph" and then it's ?

Part of it certainly could be that a cozy about a Maine Clambake company set in the winter is like catnip to a New Englandah, but all 7 copies being out at once? I #blameMrBook #nowiwait

MrBook 😂😂😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!! Oh nooo! Make that hold! 😉👍🏻 8y
Pinkmeghan @MrBook I'm the 8th hold! 🤣 8y
Pinkmeghan Also @mrsmarch I draw your attention to the attached cozy. It feels like something you need to acquire. 😂 8y

#TBRtemptation post! (I have to say, clam and lobsterbakes are the best! 😁👌🏻!) Here's a wintry #cozymystery for you. Julia Snowden receives a mysterious package in the mail containing her great-grandmother's black diamond necklace lost since the '20s. In trying to find out who sent it, she has to fend off feuding relatives, solve her uncle's mysterious death, & avoid really bad weather. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
