Complete Western Stories of Elmore Leonard
Complete Western Stories of Elmore Leonard | Elmore Leonard
3 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Before he brilliantly traversed the gritty landscapes of underworld Detroit and Miami, Elmore Leonard wrote breathtaking adventures set in America's nineteenth-century western frontier elevating a popular genre with his now-trademark twisting plots, rich characterizations, and scalpel-sharp dialogue. No author has ever written more evocatively of the dusty, gutsy heyday of the American West than Elmore Leonard. This complete collection of his thirty-one Western tales will thrill lovers of the genre, his die-hard fans, and everyone in between. From his very first story ever published "The Trail of the Apache" through five decades of classic Western tales, The Complete Western Stories of Elmore Leonard demonstrates the superb talent for language and gripping narrative that has made Leonard one of the most acclaimed and influential writers of our time."

I love Elmore Leonard, but didn‘t know he wrote Westerns. I couldn‘t resist this when I saw it in my local used bookstore. 🤠#emojinov

LeahBergen I was surprised when I heard he wrote 3:10 to Yuma. 7y

Braved the crummy weather to head to the used bookstore for their buy one get one 1/2 off sale. I should not be allowed in bookstores. The tall stack is my #bookhaul. The other stack has the books Mom picked out. Even with my store credit, I spent too much. But, in my defense, LOOK AT THESE BOOKS!!!! 😂🤣😂📚📚📚

EricQiao OMG Elmore Leonard! I ❤️ the man!! 8y
readinginthedark I have that copy of Sherlock Holmes! ❤️ 8y
DGRachel @EricQiao I first read his work in a Florida Writers class in college. I had no idea he wrote westerns. I can't wait to crack this open. 8y

Melissa_J Can't wait to hear what you think of Chadwick's novels; The Greatest Knight is one of my all-time favourites. 8y
RiotMom What a great stack! 8y
EricQiao @DGRachel yes he started off writing westerns because that was the most popular genre in the 50s. That's so cool they taught him in writer's class! I adhere to at least 5 rules of his 10. "If it sounds like writing, rewrite it." ?See the manuscript on my page you'll see I'm very much influenced by his style. ? 8y
Suetara Great stack! I agree with @Melissa_J - The Greatest Knight is fantastic. 8y
