Great story about the work that Jane Goodall did for the biology field
This book introduces Jane Goodall and her groundbreaking work with chimpanzees, inspiring children to pursue their passions and make a difference.
I Am Jane Goodall helps children understand the importance of scientific discovery, environmental conservation, and following their passions. It also introduces them to the concept of making a difference in the world through empathy and dedication.
The book follows Jane from her childhood, highlighting her deep fascination with animals, especially chimpanzees. It shows how, despite facing obstacles and doubts from others, she followed her passion for studying animals in the wild. Her journey takes readers through her groundbreaking work in Gombe, Tanzania, where she observed chimpanzees in their natural habitat, learning about their behaviors, emotions, and social structures.
The teacher could use this to have students impersonate Jane Goodall, and research a animal that they would like to know more about. This could be done through a project-based learning or paper.
Week 11 biographies. This book includes a Grafica illustration style, and many timelines to help students education on Jane Goodall. This is such a good easy read for young children. Published in 2016.
“In your life, it will be easy to see how others are ‘different‘ from you. But there‘s so much more to gain if you instead see how alike we all are.”
This would be a good book to include in a biography unit for students to learn about Jane Goodall. I also love how it also emphasizes that girls can be scientists and more. I love the illustrations and the way it is shown throughout.
I am Jane Goodall goes through the life of Jane Goodall and how she became the famous primatologist and anthropologist. It starts with her as a young child being interested in animals, which grew into a passion to learn about and work with animals. I love how this story shows how having a passion for something can create so many opportunities for you.
It all seemed like a dream, until I saw a giraffe, who stared directly at me. It had dark eyes, long lashes, a black tongue, and was chewing acacia thorns.
This is so cute and I loved the illustrations. My favorite thing was all of the positive themes that had not only to do with people but also animals.
This book is so cute and has an amazing message! This will inspire kids and it will shock them her friendship of a chimpanzee. This is definitely a feel good biography
"What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." ~ Jane Goodall
I LOVE the "I Am...." series, and my kids have been loving them too. It's been so rewarding to work through these books together.
#ucflae3414f17 I absolutely loved this picture book biography about Jane Goodall! Author Brad Meltzer has an entire series of biographies that are perfect for the elementary level. Biographies can be intimidating and appear boring, especially to children, but this particular book kept my attention with the bright illustrations and beautiful message about Jane following her dreams and spreading the message that humans do not own the earth, we share
Saw this on Instagram and had to share. ❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our first grey cat, David, is named after Goodall's David Greybeard.
