My handle came from my Instagram account. I often post a pic of my current book at bedtime with the hashtag bookandbedandtea so when I was signing up here and trying to think of a handle that seemed the way to go.
Thanks for the fun topic @Chelleo
I‘ll play along even though my #LitsyHandle is self-explanatory! This is what I came up with when I joined LibraryThing about ten years ago. I also use it for other social media even though I‘ve only ever stuck with LibraryThing and Litsy!
My dad picked out my name. I‘ve never understood why my name is relatively rare. Valerie means “strong” and I try to remember that 💪.
My first name is Laura. My middle name is Elizabeth - thus Laura Beth - because my family is Southern and in the South, we take double names seriously and I come from a LONG line of double names. I stopped the double naming with my daughter and named her simply Emma (because she‘s my fave book character). But now she WANTS to be her first and middle name (Emma Kate) because “mom - EVERYONE is named Emma! It‘s so unoriginal!”). #litsyhandle
Hi, my name is Subashini (Su-BAH-shini) & friends & family call me Suba for short. In secondary school one of my friends was drawing us as superhero caricatures & I was Batman's girl assistant, SubaBat 😂 A smart aleck friend shortened that to Batty 🙄 & a nicer friend said, No, Batsy! and that nickname stuck. I tend to use these names as online handles; left to my own devices I come up with handles like Owl of Minerva 😆 #litsyhandle @Chelleo

This was fun. Try it with your name. Pick a favorite book for the letters of your name. 🤓💙📚
