The overall message of this fairy tale is you can never be too sure who to trust. In the end, the fox pretends to want to save the gingerbread boy who takes him up on the offer, but at last, the fox ends up eating the gingerbread boy. I think students would really enjoy this fairy tale.

“The Gingerbread Boy“ is a classic fairy tale and tells the story of a little old woman who made a gingerbread boy and when she went to take him out of the oven he ran away. He ran away from a cow, a horse, mowers, etc. but alas he could not outrun a fox. It is a cumulative tale because there is little plot but a lot of rhythm and repetition.

This story was very entertaining and had a pattern of repetition. Each person that he encountered was listed off and he would outrun every person as well, until the fox came around.

This is another retail of the gingerbread boy. Classic children‘s literature, the repetition of the song he sings is something very appealing to children & how foxes are portrayed as sneaky creates excitement within the children!

Traditional. The Gingerbread boy by Paul Galdone is a telling of the classic story about a gingerbread man on the run from many hungry chasers until he comes upon someone more clever than him. This story has a lot of repetition and it also concludes very quickly after the climax which are both common of folktales.

Published in 1975 The gingerbread boy is a fun classic tale for everyone. I think it is a little sad how the gingerbread boy dies and I don't know how I feel about reading that to kids, I feel like that might be upsetting for them. But he is also a cookie.

The fox ending up getting the gingerbread man was sad for me. I was rooting for him. But—in a way it still had a happy ending. The fox was satisfied, and could now take a nice nap :)

This story is a version of the gingerbread man. An elder couple are sad about not having their own little boy or girl. So, the little old woman decides to make a ginger boy, to have their own little boy. The gingerbread boy gets loose, however, and runs away form everyone. As he does, the story repeats everyone he‘s previously ran from, so it has good repetition happening.

The Gingerbread Boy by Paul Galdone, 1975. I have never read the story of the gingerbread boy. I have heard it told to me and I knew of it. This was the first time I read through the the whole story and saw what happened to the gingerbread boy. I was shocked that the gingerbread boy trusted the fox to carry him across the river. I liked the repetition of the women, man, and animals all trying to eat him.

This story is a classic, although I didn‘t remember it ending that way. There are multiple versions of the Gingerbread Man, but most of them end up with him being caught in his house.
