so-soI got completely lost in it and finished it in 24 hours. You love to hate (and relate) to the main characters. The ending felt very rushed - I don‘t know what I wanted to happen but it felt a bit like I missed out on something, would be curious to know how others felt about how the story finished.
pickI was immediately drawn in by the humour in the first-person narrative, and then became horribly fascinated by the train wreck element in the friendship between Laura and Tyler, two women in their late twenties in Manchester. Was it time for Laura to grow out of blackout drinking and drugging? If so, what would happen to her bond with Tyler? The engaging #audiobook is read by Chloe Massey.

pickReally enjoyable read - easy going but great fleshed out characters and fun storylines.
pickStruggled between a pick & so-so. This book is an alcohol soaked and drug fueled adventure with engaged Laura and party girl Tyler. The moments between the two friends were strong and addicting to read (my liver hurt just reading it). A large part of this story centers around Laura and her square fiancé Jim, though, and their relationship is never anything that we get to root for. Great read, tho, especially for those of us in our 20's!
Just started this morning. So far it's like if Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 was British and the girls were more broke. Witty banter and female friendships (plus, I love anything on Europa). Looking forward to this!

pickI think I liked this one - I'm not 100% sure since the characters aren't really likeable? The main character parties ALL THE TIME (5 drinks is her happy hour norm, before she even goes out for a night of partying) and I just can't relate to that I guess. But I like reading things about different lifestyles and relationships, and that's exactly what this was, so I'm calling it a pick 🤓
so-soYou could think that this is Broad City in England, in a book. And you wouldn't be far off. But Unsworth takes it deeper. For me, though, not enough. This is supposed to be a story about unapologetic female friendships. But it's hard to see what fuels this friendship beyond drugs.
I applaud the effort - it's not Beaches, or some other schmaltz. But if this is what modern female friendships ought to be, I'll just stay home with my books 📚
