Marilyn Singer's 'Mirror Mirror' is a captivating collection of reversible poems that tell classic fairy tales from different perspectives. Its innovative format encourages critical thinking, creativity, and a deeper understanding of narrative structure. This book can be used to teach about point of view, creative writing, and the versatility of language in storytelling.

I enjoyed the poem in reverse as it introduces the reader to the book. Who says it's true - down is the only view? If you believe that, this poem will challenge you. Up is something new.

Again, this book would be a great way to introduce students to reverso poems and how one poem can have two meanings.

This poem book is filled with reverso poems. This would be a good way to introduce students to reverso poems. The book uses poems about popular fairytale characters which I found to be engaging and fun. It is cool to see how one poem can have two meanings when read in reverse.

#FlyHighJuly Day 6: #MirrorOnCover reminded me of this brilliant poetry book featured by Fats here: https://wp.me/pDlzr-5cn
From the introduction:
“The poems in this collection are called reversos because they‘re written as two different versions of the same story. In the case of Mirror Mirror, the stories are fairy tales.”

Mirror Mirror by Marilyn Singer. The author tells the reader before they start to read that it‘s “A book of reversible verse.” I love fairytales and it was cool that she told two sides of one story. I have never read anything like this. I liked that she put both the normal and the reverse on each page.

I would read this to 1st and 2nd graders. This book would be great when students get into fairytale books. It's a good way to introduce poetry into the classroom in a fun way.

This book is a children's poetry book. The rhythm in this story connects with the book. Each book is a fairytale story and the poem starts one way and the opposite on the other. The rhythm helps create the poem into a new and different type of story.

This is a poem that will appeal to children, because of the creativity behind it and the familiar theme. This poem has high quality imagination by showing children different ways poetry can work and it shows them a fresh way of creative poetry.

I would use this book in my future classroom, because it has a variety of poems ad a lot of them have themes that are familiar to children. This specific poem for example is creative by flopping the poem to mean something completely different and it is about Cinderella. These poems are good examples of poetry.

I loved how the poems had two sides to them. It's like the “mirror“ is talking back to the first poem and saying the opposite thing. This gives it the feel that you have the devil and the angel sitting on your shoulders trying to tell you what to do.

Mirror Mirror by Marilyn Singer was written in 2010. This was such a fun book to read with all the different poems with fairytales! I love reading fairytales and this was a fun little version of two different sides. There‘s the main character, then a side character with their little portion. My favorite one was the one about Cinderella.

What‘s brewing when two favorites—poetry and fairy tales—are turned (literally) on their heads? It‘s a revolutionary recipe: an infectious new genre of poetry and a lovably modern take on classic stories. First, read the poems forward, then reverse the lines and read again to give familiar tales a delicious new spin. This gorgeously illustrated and unique offering holds a mirror up to language and fairy tales. #mirror #newhogwartsadventure
