Geez, I adore this series! Such great characters, lots of action and very nicely written.! And, of course I'll watch season 4 on apple tv!

Stressful! Think I'm going to pause before continuing in the series. While the mix was usual, the percentages were off: this one felt less about solving a mystery and more about interpersonal tension and betrayal, not to mention the politics. Still managed a jaw-dropper moment or two but I spent a bit too much time outraged vs entertained. Some old spy mistakes don't feel forgivable.⚠️suicide bombing, animal death, dementia
Perhaps the easiest way to remind series' readers that Roderick Ho is a dick. 😑
The denizens of Slough House rarely mince words. 🫢
Fourth in his Slow Horses spy/thriller series starring the wonderful anti-Smiley, Jackson Lamb, the rude, obnoxious, flatulent genius in charge of Slough House, the place where the M15 operatives who have screwed up badly but can't be fired go to eke out the rest of their miserable existence. Hilarious and gripping, this is a great series and this one maintains the standard. Herron is to Le Carré what Le Carré was to Fleming. Unmissable.
Found a new series I‘ll be obsessing over. This is my second by Mick Herron and yep, the critics were right - it does get better with each book!😆
Another great series and this was a thrilling addition. The residents of Slough house are the failures from British secret service lead by the larger than life Jackson lamb. In this story the plot gets closer to home as ex mi5 David Cartwright grandfather of river is shipping into dementia and appears to be target of an assassination - the search for the villains brings slough house centre stage again. #LitsyA-Z
When the cat was away, Lamb had been known to remark, the mice started farting about with notions of democratic freedom. Then the cat returned in a tank.
Jackson Lamb, looking like Steve Bannon at his worst, oversees a crew of hopeless loser spies in a crumbling house in London. Suddenly one of his agents is on the run, a 20 year old operation comes screaming back for payback; and Jackson locks and loads. And when no hopers have nothing left to lose, they can do the impossible. Just raced through this and will read again to savor.

The jackson lamb series is addictive and this is book 4 which i am looking forward to reading soon. Modern spymasters battle both internal and external threats and everywhere the reader turns are twists, turns, plots and lots of suspicious minds. A series id really recommend.
How exciting to get home and find a good reads giveaway waiting especially as it is the next book in a series i am really enjoying.
I promise this is my last gushy post over these #booksleeves, but is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen! Pink woodland creatures! One for me one for the shop! #bookgogo http://etsy.me/2pO0mf5
Utterly entertaining. Jackson Lamb is coarser and more vitriolic than ever as his 'slow horses' come under attack. As ever with this series, Mick Herron combines a griping and well-constructed plot with bursts of trenchant humour. Mick Herron's series featuring the abominable (yet bizarrely likeable) Jackson Lamb goes from strength to strength in this latest volume.
My first ever #ARC (so excited!) ....whilst I haven't had much time today to sink my teeth into this book, I must admit the first few chapters have pulled me in completely!! Such a shame I won't be able to sit down and have some quality reading time until Thursday at the earliest!
Making a start on a new book before going to sleep...! The synopsis sounds like my cuppa tea so here I go...! Loved making the most of this weekend to take part in #LitsyPartyOfOne 🙌
The fourth in Mick Herron's JACKSON LAMB SERIES draws on the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the rise of the Islamist threat in another gripping read that's packed with twists and turns, some shocking character deaths and a big reveal that promises to shape the coming books.
Here's just one of the spots where we gather ARC's at the store. Surprised this Mick Herron book lasted back here. I've had about 50 requests for Slow Horses since Nancy Pearl talked about it on NPR and I cannot find any copies of it anywhere to order for people.
