so-soThis book has a lot going for it, it just felt a bit “old-school”, writing-wise. And that‘s not even a bad thing, necessarily… but I dno, I guess maybe it‘s not my fave. Also, this prob didn‘t catch my attention as much bc all the other books I was concurrently reading were pretty amazing. I‘d try this again some other time, but it‘s def not on top of my list.

This is a “techno thriller” where the science makes sense so you can just enjoy the story.

Really enjoying this. The neurological stuff is well written and believable.
Abbs is waiting for me to open the book so she can lay on it.
Also I got my nails done for the 1st time all year.

Really liking this one. I almost bailed at the beginning but held out a little while and now I'm hooked (no pun intended). Should be done with this tonight.
My husband has been raving about this since 2015 & finally succeeded in convincing me to read it. It's sometime in the near future and designer smart drugs are everywhere. One drug, developed by the narrator, Lyda, and her defunct pharmaceutical company, makes people believe they have VERY close personal relationships with the divine. Lyda is accompanied by an angel/doctor, the result of an overdose of this drug. Tone is a bit Veronica Mars-esque!
