At Knit's End
At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much | Stephanie Pearl-McPhee
8 posts | 10 read | 6 to read
The tangled life of the knitter is the subject of inspired nuttiness in 300 tongue-in-cheek meditations from the Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. At Knits End captures the wickedly funny musings of someone who doesnt believe its possible to knit too much and who willingly sacrifices sleep, family, work, and sanity in order to keep doing it. Covering everything from the deadly second sock syndrome to a pile of yarn so big it can hide a washing machine, this hilarious collection will have knitters in stitches!

I‘m a knitter, crocheter, and weaver. Now I‘m dabbling into painting and watercolors.

Finished my knitted top!
“Occasionally, while knitting something particularly yummy I feel about my knitting as I do about a good book. I look and see that there are only a few pages left and feel sorry that there won‘t be more of it...”

PurpleTulipGirl Beautiful! That looks like it will be a good top year round, on its own or layered. 5y
katy4peas Thanks @PurpleTulipGirl ! I can‘t wait for the weather to cooperate so I can wear it! :) 5y

This small book is one that's guaranteed to always make me smile. "I can remember to think kindly of the inventions and inventors who made it so that I can just go to the yarn shop instead of wrestling a full-grown angry sheep to the ground holding shears in my teeth." #augustphotochallenge #augustofpages #booksthatmakeyousmile #yarnharlot

MrBook Here ya go, @BookBabe 😎👍🏻. 8y

I'm not sure I know many Canadian authors (I've only discovered thanks to everyone's photos that Margaret Atwood is Canadian). Thus I nominate Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (aka the Yarn Harlot) as my favourite Canadian author. If you knit and haven't checked out her blog, you're missing out. 😁🇨🇦

bookishkai She's the best! Saw her at a reading/signing with friends ages ago; the bookstore people weren't sure at all what to do with all the knitters sitting in line all day. 8y
Sue @bookishkris I wish she would come to Australia. Surely dealing with knitters is simple - ensure they have tea and plenty of yarn 😊 8y
