This was quirky mystery about a quirky woman who finds herself in the role of protector for a man she‘s never met. It made me ponder the notion of how our lives can be dramatically changed in an instant, even if the person responsible for those events never removers their role in our lives. I enjoyed the read.

Anyone else listened to these KL Slater books? The lead up and final "twist" just don't match for me. I love the tension and build up but the big climax point falls flat. Anyone else? Or am I picky and need to calm down?

This book had the potential to be great but it didn't achieve that potential. There were a lot of interesting characters and the general storyline was good but it just felt like something was missing. The pacing was ok, it definitely has that thrilling effect but there was no epic ending or epic moment. Still, I enjoyed it well enough.

I'm really not sure about this one. For two thirds of the book I was gripped by the tension, torn between sympathy and contempt for the main character, but in the end it just kind of fizzled out and I was left thinking "Really? ... That's it?" Not a pick and I probably won't pick it up for another read in the future.

Got myself a new gadget so I can listen to my audiobooks through my car speakers.

I am just about to start this on Audible, has anyone read it?

This book had so many dark undercurrents running between the pages and I was unsettled and creeped out the entire time I was reading it. Anna‘s cold indifference and stark paranoia really chilled me, in fact I found myself looking over my shoulder even though I read this book in the comfort of my own home. I was quite wrapped up in Anna‘s sad and strange little world and was keen to find out what the tragedy was exactly.
