INTRIGUING PLOT, FASCINATING CHARACTERS... "Part mystery, part women's fiction, part poetry, Mulhern's debut, The Deep End, will draw you in with the first sentence and entrance you until the last. An engaging whodunit that kept me guessing until the end!" - Tracy Weber, Author of the Downward Dog Mysteries Sub-Genre Keywords: Humorous Mystery, Historical Mystery, Whodunnit, Amateur Sleuth, Women Sleuths Swimming into the lifeless body of her husband's mistress tends to ruin a woman's day, but becoming a murder suspect can ruin her whole life. It's 1974 and Ellison Russell's life revolves around her daughter and her art. She's long since stopped caring about her cheating husband, Henry, and the women with whom he entertains himself. That is, until she becomes a suspect in Madeline Harper's death. The murder forces Ellison to confront her husband's proclivities and his crimes-kinky sex, petty cruelties and blackmail. As the body count approaches par on the seventh hole, Ellison knows she has to catch a killer. But with an interfering mother, an adoring father, a teenage daughter, and a cadre of well-meaning friends demanding her attention, can Ellison find the killer before he finds her? Praise for THE DEEP END: "What truly stands out is the development of Ellison as a very realistic and very likable character... Not to be overlooked is the humor and wit that entertains throughout the novel as readers enjoy following an intelligent heroine completely coming into her own as a compelling, funny, and very intelligent woman." - Kings River Life Magazine "A well-written traditional mystery...Plotting is tight and suspense-filled with plenty of twists and turns. Ellison was a likable character and I'm looking forward to reading more about her." - Loralee Peterson, NetGalley Reviewer "What a fun read! Murder in the days before cell phones, the internet, DNA and AFIS." - Books for Avid Readers "Intriguing plots, fascinating characters. From the first page to the last, Julie's mysteries grab the reader and don't let up. When all is resolved and I read the last page, I wanted to read more." - Sally Berneathy, USA Today Bestselling Author "Ms. Mulhern weaves a tidy tale of murder, blackmail, and life behind the scenes in the Country Club set of the 70s... an excellent mystery, highly recommended, and I eagerly await the next in the series." - Any Good Book Books in the Country Club Murders Humorous Mystery Series: THE DEEP END (#1) GUARANTEED TO BLEED (#2) October 2015 Part of the Henery Press Mystery Series Collection, if you like one, you'll probably like them all... Author Bio: Julie Mulhern is a Kansas City native who grew up on a steady diet of Agatha Christie. She spends her spare time whipping up gourmet meals for her family, working out at the gym and finding new ways to keep her house spotlessly clean-and she's got an active imagination. Truth is-she's an expert at calling for take-out, she grumbles about walking the dog and the dust bunnies under the bed have grown into dust lions. She is a 2014 Golden Heart(r) Finalist. The Deep End is her first mystery and is the winner of The Sheila Award.

My man is in a relaxing mood this morning so I could finish my book. I wasn‘t sure what to expect. I thoroughly loved this book! It‘s funny, a little predictable, and a bit cheesy. It‘s a great filler between all the series I have going. The book could use a bit more editing. There is a lot of lip curling and ‘oh dear lords‘ but good! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Traci1 He's adorable. 😍 3y

My mom gifted me this book and I wasn‘t sure about it since I‘m not one for cozy mystery type books. I was wrong to categorize it as one. Haha! It‘s more of a mystery/comedy. 🤣 I‘ve enjoyed it so far. It‘s a lite easy read.

#Cozyinthesun no.5. An entertaining and easy to read mystery. The 70's setting was fun. It's the first of a series, I think I'll go get the next one now. Thanks @Pamwurtzler for putting this one on my radar.

Librarybelle These sound very interesting. I need to write down the author‘s name! 5y
RaimeyGallant Is there a dead body in that pool? Daring cover! 5y
CarolynM @RaimeyGallant The action kicks off with a dead body in the pool, so it's not really a spoiler.😂 5y

I‘m really talking about Diamond Girl, a short story in Julie Mulhern‘s Country Club murders series. This one is told from the housekeeper‘s point of view. Not quite as good as the full novels, but I still liked it and the next installment in the series will be out in 2 weeks. Yay! Also, 4/6 of #Sixby6/6

Samplergal You can do this! Great job. 7y

1970s-set murder mystery for a Saturday afternoon. This is the first book in the series, but I‘ve already read one of the later ones so I‘m looking forward to seeing how it all started. I have book 3 waiting too, but I may wait for a discount on book 2 and go back to reading in order!

Fun first book in a series - set in the 1970's it's an interesting peek into what was happening at that time.
