Having just read Dune, Herbert's high-concept sci fi epic, I'm reading Asimov's juvenile sci fi adventure, Space Ranger, 1st in his series about David Starr, a man so perfect he could be one of Doc Smith's Lensmen.
Asimov has done little to transcend his '50s USA-centric POV, & with few changes, this could be a Western story about cattle barons. I bought it mainly for its Pennington cover, but I'm not having to force myself too hard to finish it.
