panI was looking forward to a life story but got some less interesting anecdotes that were forced together by the setting of a turning door at an airport, but they don‘t tell anything about Asta, the protagonist. It‘s not fluent or interesting, it‘s just elitist.
The author knows how to dissect the German language but that‘s not enough to support a real plot.

I know who this is, a pretty famous literature critic in Germany, but I just couldn‘t help but imagine that such praises are printed on book covers as quotes from ordinary people, bookworms like you and me. Really, I just imagined how it would be to read my own name under that sentence. ?
It‘s not good to see in the picture above but now that I read a book with bigger line spacing (left), I remember how narrow the line spacing of “The Rabbi†(right) has been.
From time to time it came to my mind again because my eyes don‘t like narrow lines spaces anymore. Maybe that‘s one reason why I thought that “The Rabbi†is longer than 426 pages.

pickEndlich komme ich dazu mal etwas von #KatjaLange-Müller zu lesen und beginne mit ihrer "Drehtür". Der Anfang des Buches gefällt mir schon mal.
