This book was really awesome. It was definitely not what I expected when reading a book about someone who was completely run over by truck. It wasn‘t a pity party and it didn‘t completely make light of the situation. It was really a view of what you go through when your body experiences trauma and how it changes your life.

Just back from Mountains and Plains Independent Booksellers Fall Discovery Show with this gem of a memoir. The title says it all: at 25 Katie was riding her bike in NYC when in a freak accident she was literally run over by a Mack truck. (I suppose it could have been a Peterbilt, etc. She doesn't say.) Eight massive wheels rolled over her abdomen and yet she survived. This is her amazing, funny, and heartwarming story of her trek back to life.
